Charmaine Sheh rumored assisting Ricky Wong in poaching, company issues statement to clarify

TVB FaDan Charmaine Sheh switched over to the Mainland market and signed with a new company, 'ArtExpress'. However, she is still under a TVB 'per-series' contract. Recently it was reported Charmaine changed her mind and enters the poaching tide and entices other TVB artists to sign with Ricky Wong. Catherine Chau also follows her good friend and decided not to renew her TVB contract, which expires this month (October). It was also rumored Charmaine targeted Tavia Yeung as well, helping Ricky Wong get Tavia over to be his front line FaDan. Earlier Ricky Wong personally invited Bowie Lam out for a meal, while Joe Ma and Michael Tao are also his targets. Charmaine was accused of being the leader in the poaching and is now known as the 'betrayer'. Yesterday Charmaine's management company ArtExpress Production (創藝製作) issued a statement to the media clarifying the rumors.

Yesterday ArtExpress Production issued a statement, an excerpt is below:

QUOTE
"We, ArtExpress, and City TeleCom's relationship is purely a business decision made by us. The collaboration is to provide greater room for development for our local artists. Ms. Charmaine Sheh has not participated in any of our business decisions or operations. The issue has innocently led to Ms. Sheh's involvement. ArtExpress extends our deepest apologies. We hope that the media will publish friendly reports in the future and do not use insulting words to harm innocent artists for the sake of a sensational report. Before publishing subjective opinions and content, please take the necessary steps to understand the entire situation before taking any action."

The statement also mentioned the fabricated news damages Charmaine and ArtExpress reputation and the related parties reserve the right to take legal action.

Reporters contacted Charmaine about her assistance to Ricky Wong in poaching TVB artists. Her manager Tina responded and expressed Charmaine has been in Mainland shooting a new drama all along and basically isn't aware of the situation at all. She and TVB still has a per-series contract, therefore this rumor has made it awkward for her. In November, Charmaine'sWhen Heaven Burns will be releasing, she also hopes to take time off her schedule to participate in the HK promotions. The relationship between Charmaine and TVB is very positive.

As if Charmaine's good friend Catherine Chau is following her up north too? Tina said Catherine's contract ends late October and she will announce her future direction herself.

Asked about the form of collaboration between ArtExpress and City Telecom? Does 'providing artists greater room for development' as mentioned in the statement include work in City TeleCom? Tina said this is just a business collaboration, and there will be announcements later. However, Charmaine is independent, so she will not affect the business collaborations. Later, Charmaine exposed on Weibo that she's hurt. Tina said she just fell, nothing serious.

It was also reported Ricky Wong poached Ghetto Justice's editor and Lives of Omission's director to prepare the production of a new ghost-themed series.
