Charmaine Sheh: A Little Reward

Even though Charmaine Sheh didn’t win the TV Queen award at this year’s Anniversary Awards ceremony, she still maintains her “queen” status when it comes to earning power. Based on calculations for the entire 2009 year – including commercials, live performances, filming TV series – her total earnings exceeded $15 million HKD, putting her at the top of the earnings list among all of TVB’s “siu sangs” and “fa dans”. To reward herself, Charmaine is planning to purchase a new $800,000 HKD car. Laughing, she says: “Since I need to drive a car almost every day, I figured it was worth it to buy a more expensive one.” With all the money that she makes in a year, this “little reward” – it’s nothing! 

Charmaine had 2 series that aired in 2009 – "You’re Hired" and "Beyond the Realm of Conscience" and so her popularity has been “off the charts” all year – notably with <>, as the healthy image of the character she played, Lau Sam Ho, made the commercial sponsors especially delighted and happy. Even with her working everyday on her new series "Heaven and Earth", Charmaine has still found time to attend 7 or 8 shows, earning her another $1 million HKD. As the saying goes, ‘the purpose of working so hard to earn money is to be able to enjoy it’ – with regard to this, she expressed: “This past year, I’m pretty satisfied with the overall results, so I decided to buy a new car because the one I have currently, I’ve used for 5 years already…so loyal! Because I have to work every day, I’ve only had time to look through [car] catalogs so far…at first, there was an Audi that I liked in the catalog, however the cost was more than $2 million HKD – I really didn’t have the heart to buy it! With all the hard work involved in earning money, I felt like it would hurt too much to spend over a million dollars on a car; so now, I’ve set my sights on the new E-Class from Mercedes Benz that costs about $800,000 HKD. However, recently, my work schedule has been so tight that I don’t even have time to go buy cotton balls for makeup – maybe later when I have a little more time, then I’ll pursue it more.”

In addition to being “the queen of shows,” Charmaine also has a good eye when it comes to investing – last year, the real estate that she bought on HK island all yielded good results. When it comes to investing in real estate, Charmaine’s preference is in the HK island area because of its convenience and its potential for appreciation (rise in value)…of course, for the purposes of investing in prime property, she always does her homework thoroughly beforehand. “I would read the newspapers, research the different opinions of realtors and investment agents toward the particular property, and of course, I would go and view the property myself – after all, it’s not good to just listen to others without seeing for myself. Also, I’m a firm believer in [the Chinese saying] ‘without your own effort there is no reward’….that’s why I never buy stocks because no matter how stable they are, I don’t have time to manage them [the stocks]. With this said though, real estate prices have gotten quite high recently, so for now, it’s probably best to hold off…plus, the place where I live right now is not bad; I also believe in geomancy (fengshui), so even if the place I live in now is not that big and there isn’t enough room to put my stuff, for now, I still plan on living there.”

Choose a Boyfriend Who is “On the Same Page” With Her

Career-wise, Charmaine was very successful last year, however in terms of a love relationship there hasn’t seemed to be as much success; her ‘rumored’ relationship with Kevin Cheng was constantly rumored to be on and off, on and off: “After filming the series, we broke up of course! Actually, both of us have pretty ‘opinionated’ and ‘open’ personalities, so it’s more suitable and comfortable for us to be friends [rather than lovers].” (What are your requirements when it comes to choosing a boyfriend?) “Very simple, the most important thing is happiness…whether he has money or good looks, it doesn’t matter. Most important is the ability to communicate comfortably; if we can’t even get along, it’s hard to be together for a long time…I would die having to be together day after day in this type of situation.” (So your mom hasn’t ‘pressured’ you to get married?) “She’s actually very open-minded; in fact, she has even told me not to worry – just look at the example of Liza Wang: she also earns a lot of money and has a very successful career, and in the end, she was able to find her significant other to ‘grow old’ with. She even told me that since I like kids, I can always adopt one in the future – this way, I can help others as well. My mom has always been this way – allowing me to do what I like to do without giving me any pressure whatsoever.” Recently, there have been many examples of female celebrities falling in love with “foreign” (non-Asian) boyfriends; Charmaine immediately expressed: “I don’t know if I will encounter this or not in the future, however when I was studying in Switzerland, I did come into contact with non-Asian males, but never tried having a relationship with them – after all, the feelings aren’t as close [different cultures]; if I have a chance to choose, of course I would choose someone who is ‘on the same page’ with me.” It comes as no surprise then that the list of “rumored” males who have been “linked” to her romantically have been primarily TVB siu sangs…perhaps being from the same company helps to “be on the same page!” 

Charmaine Sheh will renew her contract with TVB if it is reasonable

TVB up coming new series "Heaven and Earth" were filming a wedding scene at an Airport hotel the other night. It was a wedding scene between Moses Chan and Maggie Siu. Guests Charmaine Sheh and Jin Yan Ling as well as Maggie were all wearing jewelries (worth over 10 million HKD) sponsored by the jewelers. Bowie Lam was also there as guest to greet the newly wed couple.

Charmaine was in black, but she looked very tired and she appeared to have a stiff neck. Charmaine explained that she been busy filming "Heaven and Earth" and "Can't buy me love" at the same time. She was over tired that she probably didn't sleep that well. She told reporter "It's been two days now, but I haven't got time to see the doctor yet. I don't even have time to buy lipstick, nevermind about seeing a doctor, which is a luxury." Reporter asked if she needed a massage? Charmaine didn't reply, but went on to say that she usually goes home and have a bath, then she would read the script before heading for bed. Charmaine also revealed that she has two more days to film, that night appeared as wedding guest was really relaxing. 

Charmaine's contract with TVB is not due for renewal yet. Reporter asked her if she thinks TVB has the monopoly, she replied "There must be terms of condition in the contract. I will sign it if it is reasonable." Reporter went on to ask if she feels TVB is under attack by all four enemies? Charmaine replied "You can say that this big tree attracts a gust of wind. I don't know for how long it will be blowing, but I hope the tree can continue to grow." 

Charmaine Sheh spends 1.6 million on emerald ring for her mother

Yesterday Charmaine Sheh was arranged to wear an emerald ring worth 1.6 million dollars for a catwalk. She then expressed in a wealthy manner that she plans to buy it for her mother. Charmaine expressed that her new year's wish is to earn more money, so she can invest in property. Asked if shes going to consider moving to Bel-Air and be neighbors with Kate Tsui? She said that she has not thought that far yet, nothing has been decided yet. 

As for the reports saying that TVB film "72 Tenants of Prosperity" is suppressing "All's Well End Well Too 2010" promotions which is releasing around the same time? Charmaine expressed that she does not believe in such reports and that she never heard of TVB wanting to cut down the screen time of other artists in the film. 

There is also another report saying that she and Niki Chow suddenly have things to chat about? Charmaine stressed that she does not know Niki personally, so they don't have any contact with each other. Charmaine personally greets all her colleagues when she sees them, if she sees Niki, she also will greet her.

Charmaine Sheh: A "good idea" to invest in Singapore's properties

Real estate agents here, start taking notes. Charmaine Sheh, one of Hong Kong's most popular TVB actresses and its top earner for 2009 (from dramas and endorsements), is considering putting her money on properties on the island.

The 34-year-old, who was in town last weekend for the inaugural StarHub TVB Awards ceremony, had recently declared wanting to "invest in property" but has yet to "decide on a location."

When reporters suggested Singapore, her face lit up and she enthused in excitement, "That is a pretty good idea!" before she continued rattling on how she's impressed and in love with the country's "cleanliness and the good city-planning."

Dressed in a resplendent white cocktail dress, Charmaine was all smiles when she commented on her position as the top-earning TVB actress of 2009. "Honestly, I was very happy when I read that report. I'm not sure how the others fared last year but I am pretty pleased with it. I hope to earn even more this year but I still think that health is most important."

She revealed that she "hasn't had a good sleep for a few days. I only slept for five hours for the past three to four days!"

After her goody-two shoes turn in the hit-period drama series, Beyond the Realm of Conscience, Charmaine Sheh will reunite with Moses Chan in two upcoming back-to-back drama series, Heaven and Earth and Arrival of Princess. At the press conference of the award ceremony, the two stars appeared to be comfortable in each other's company, cracking jokes at one another.

"We don't phone one another but we do talk about everything else. For example, properties," the pair chirped in unison.

Despite having worked together for three consecutive projects, Charmaine said that they are not tired of working with each other. "That's because Moses He was a fatty [in Beyond the Realm of Conscience]. He is skinnier now, and will portray a madman [in Arrival of Princess]. His character would even fart at me and [co-star] Chen Fala's faces in the show." she said between giggles.

Despite the record-breaking ratings of Beyond the Realm of Conscience, both veteran actors appear unfazed at the impending number crunch awaiting them.

Unperturbed, Moses commented, "As long as we are happy working with each other, that is all that matters - as long as it is fun!"

With Valentine's Day round the corner, we questioned both artistes on their rumoured longtime squeezes and fellow TVB colleagues, Bernice Liu and Kevin Cheng.

While Charmaine was more upfront and candid about her ongoing rumours with Kevin, as she believed the "very helpful and timely" rumours gave a hand in promoting Beyond the Realm of Conscience, Moses, on the other hand, dropped roundabout answers.

The tall actor, deviated from the topic and instead glossed over it by saying how rare it is for Valentine's Day to coincide with the first day of the Lunar New Year and wished for all couples in the world to have a "happy reunion."

He only started to open up when reporters threw him non-romantic topics such as his keen interest in coffee.

"Yes [I hope to open up my own coffee store] and I really do hope to have my own coffee brand. I am thinking about it every single second. I'm serious!" Moses earnestly shared.

Charmaine chimed in response to her co-actor's claim and wisecracked, "Ah Mo coffee?"

Charmaine diligently studies her scenes

Yesterday around 10pm, Charmaine Sheh was in Causeway Bay filming the series "Heaven and Earth". That night, Charmaine was filming a scene where she has to run across the street and chase a bunch of youths carrying mattresses; due to all the cars in the street, she had to re-film the scene numerous times. After she finished filming, Charmaine immediately put her big coat back on for warmth, then diligently sat down with the director and others to study upcoming scenes – so hardworking.

Charmaine Sheh abruptly puts a stop to interview

Yesterday, Charmaine Sheh attended an event to support Stephen Chan’s new book, during which Stephen took the opportunity to “use” her recent rumors with Moses Chan to tease her and lighten the mood. After the event, Charmaine expressed: “It’s not awkward -- the rumors are not within my control, my focus right now is on filming series.” (How about rumors that Bernice Liu is unhappy with your comments dragging her into the situation?) “The situation should be over now…please don’t take these types of false, laughable rumors as the truth.” (Will you be avoiding Moses?) “We’re filming the same series right now, plus it’s a comedy, so it’s necessary to be happy so that the audience will have the same feeling.” (How about being more careful on a personal level outside of work?) “Thank you!” Immediately afterward, Charmaine quickly turned around and left, thereby abruptly ending the interview.

Charmaine Sheh informs Moses Chan on taking legal action against rumors

Yesterday on the 3rd day of Chinese New Year, the Sha Tin Jockey Club Chinese New Year celebration officially started. As the guest performers Charmaine Sheh and Ella Koon although both came in big coats, but when the ceremony started they took it off despite the cold weather. Wearing in a LANVIN's short dress, Charmaine who passed out red envelopes to the audience later admitted that because of the cold weather, she pre-recorded the song and did not sing live. Wearing short sleeves, Ella was seen moving around a lot to stay warm. Later she and master chef Chow Chung were cooking up new year dishes, Ella said that she had to use him to block the cold winds! 

When Charmaine was asked about rumored boyfriend Moses Chan, if she went to his place for new year greetings, Charmaine appeared angered and said: "I don't want to talk about this. (A report said that you guys met up?) Let the lawyers handle it, I will not say any more. I do not hope to mention this rumor again because it is not true. (Really affected you?) Just came back to Hong Kong after shooting new film "東風破", Ella expressed that the first Valentine's Day with her boyfriend was separated because she's been too busy and had no time to see him. She continued to say that she'll buy a 3T in hope to win the 50 million prize money, asked if she'll use that money for marriage? She said: "Didn't think about that yet, actually I want to buy a property and be a landlady. But I don't think I have that kind of luck." 

Charmaine Sheh: Moses Chan & Kevin Cheng are old enough to look after themselves

Charmaine Sheh attended the "HK Health Check and Medical Diagnostic Center" press conference yesterday. This is her third year as the spokesperson for that center. Apart from her fees, she also gets a free body check every year. Charmaine revealed she has a regular health check every year. This is because as an artist working all hours, it is important for her to have a body check up every year. Asked if she is in good health? Charmaine replied "I am pretty healthy really; except for the fist time, my cholesterol is a bit high. It is all my fault, I like eating crabs. But now, I eat less crabs. I am older now, and I am not as brave as before. The older I am, the less time I have in life. I need to treasure my life. When I was younger, I was willing to do a lot of dangerous acts such as hung up in wire and a lot of action moment. I remember once, I was filming a scene in the hill, I stepped on the sands. I knew the sands were loose, I still stepped on them, knowing I might be in danger. But now, I am more careful. I know when to rest. I had worked about 90 episodes of series so far this year. (Did you recommend any artist to have their health check?) Sharon asked if she could get a discount. (Did you ask Moses Chan and Kevin Cheng to have their body check?) They are older than me, they can look after themselves, they don't need me to look after them."

Charmaine Sheh earns 7-figures in a month

Last year, Charmaine Sheh beat out all of TVB’s ‘siu sangs’ and ‘fa dans’ to be the ‘Queen’ in the earnings department – that year, she earned over 10 million HKD. Looking at hear earnings so far heading into the new year 2010: Charmaine just returned from a $1 million HKD gig in Malaysia shooting a commercial for a beauty products company. Also, during the Lunar New Year holiday, she took over for actress Carina Lau as the spokesperson for fashion label Wanko, earning another 7-figure sum. With all the money that she has made so far in the new year, Charmaine smiles and says: “The first 2 months were a good start due to the 7-figure commercial – hopefully the trend will continue…it would be best if there is one of these types of commercials a month!”

On the day of shooting for this particular fashion label commercial, it was extremely cold; wearing a thin, short-sleeved dress from the label’s spring collection, Charmaine was constantly shivering, to the point where prior to the shoot, she had to rely on a portable stove to keep warm. However, once the shoot officially began, Charmaine completely forgot about the cold and become very energetic – jumping and skipping around (though she was wearing high heels) as instructed. The shoot turned out so smoothly that even the label’s owner Mrs. Cheng – who was present to help supervise – complimented Charmaine’s performance, commenting that no matter what type of attire she is wearing, she is able to bring forth the special qualities of the outfits. In response to this, Charmaine said: “This time, wearing a ‘career woman’ dress suit was quite unique, as I don’t usually get a chance to wear this type of outfit. I remember when I was younger, whenever I went shopping and saw a suit, I always wanted to buy it because it looked so professional – I never got the chance to experience putting on a dress suit and going to work like other OLs in Central. In terms of the types of outfits I like to wear on a regular basis, I actually prefer casual – a pair of jeans and a T-shirt made of comfortable material. Add to that a pair of glasses and no makeup, and I’m all set.”

With leading role in the highest rated series from last year "Beyond the Realm of Conscience" plus her status as top earner in the area of commercials throughout the year, it can be said then that her status as the ‘#1 fadan’ in television is safe and steady. To this, Charmaine replied: “What is considered ‘#1 fadan’? In my opinion, Liza Wang is the #1 fadan in TVB – she is the ‘Treasure of the Stage’ after all! Actually, I don’t view fame and fortune very heavily, which is why I never put any unnecessary pressure on myself by wondering whether I can become ‘#1 fadan’ or whether I can be the highest earner or whether I would get a certain award. The goal I have for myself is not very ambitious – I just hope to be happy every day and be able to smile when I go to sleep…of course, in order to make a living, earning money is important – plus I need to rely on myself, since there isn’t anyone to ‘take care’ of me!”

Doesn’t Care About Boyfriend’s Financial Background

With the fame and fortune she has currently, it seems that being able to find a man who can ‘match’ her financially will be more and more difficult – is she afraid that men will be afraid to court her? Laughing, Charmaine replied: “I don’t know. First of all, the guy wouldn’t tell me anyway [if he were afraid] and second, I would never ask a guy if he is afraid of me. I feel that one of the important things in choosing a partner is whether we have things in common and are able to get along as well as how happy and comfortable we are with each other….I don’t look at how much money he has. I believe that there aren’t that many people who, when they die, are concerned only with how much money they have in the bank rather than their loved ones. In addition, I would never use the criteria of whether the person ‘matches’ me or not because it’s so subjective – you may think he matches, others may feel he does not…the most important thing is that the two are able to communicate well – after all, the relationship is forever!”

Charmaine has been working non-stop recently – after filming for "Heaven and Earth" wrapped, she is currently busy with the new series "Can’t Buy Me Love"; in addition she will be filming a series with actor Raymond Lam shortly plus a mainland China series that she just accepted. With so much going on, there has been barely any time for her to take vacation or rest, let alone seek out a ‘good man’. Smiling, Charmaine commented: “My upcoming schedule is very jam-packed – based on calculation at this point, I won’t have time to rest until October at the earliest. Therefore, at this point in time, if you were to ask me what I want most, I would tell you that I want to have a vacation so I can rest and enjoy life. I really want to find someone to accompany me to Greece for a trip – one of my girl friends said that if she is able to accommodate with her schedule, she would come. I’m also planning on taking a month off to go back to Hawaii to visit my mom. There are different stages in life – when I first started in the work force, I was young and career-driven, so the focus is on continuously working without regard for anything else…it’s also a time to work hard and take advantage of every opportunity possible to move forward – therefore, I was so focused on trying different things in my career that I was not able to see anything outside of that. Now, more than a decade later, my attitude has changed – there’s more financial stability and I’ve found a ‘rhythm’ that works for me, so there is more focus on my surroundings as well as the people around me (my family). In addition, the year before, my mother went through a very serious illness, to the point of her heart almost stopping, which caused me to reflect and decide that I want to spend more time with her. Throughout all these years, my mom has always allowed me a lot of freedom to do my work and has never complained – therefore, these past few years, I always take at least 1 month off to go back to Hawaii and be with my mom as well as meet up with my brothers. I cherish these moments that I’m able to be together with them – in terms of the company (TVB), they have been quite understanding and have always tried to accommodate as much as possible.

Buying A Car

In terms of plans to buy a car or a house, Charmaine expressed: “I’ve been so busy lately, but recently I did have a chance to buy a car that I liked. Since I didn’t have much time, I only looked at the model of the car in a catalog but never actually saw it in person. In fact, the day I bought it, I left the keys to my old car with the security guard at work and had the car salesman drive the new car over to the parking lot. After picking up the key to my old car from the security guard, he helped to unload the stuff in my old car and put it in the new car, then drove the old car away. This way, after I got off work, I was able to drive my new car back home. Of course, if I were to buy a house, I wouldn’t be able to do the same thing, as it is important to go inspect the house in person.” Wow, Charmaine has been so busy that she doesn’t even have time to go down to the car dealership to buy a car – in a sense, it’s a good thing, as it’s proof that she is definitely earning good money. Top 10 TV Artists: Third Place – Charmaine Sheh

The first time I saw Charmaine Sheh was in 2002 during the 12th annual Next Magazine Awards. It was the first time I participated in the awards and the first time she was nominated. From that moment on, I would see her at least once each year.

After several years without seeing each other, it’s no surprise if you don’t know me. However, Charmaine is different – after seeing her at the awards show for 9 years straight, the feeling is like eating moon cakes during the Mid-Autumn Festival or receiving red envelopes during Lunar New Year – a very familiar and natural feeling. I have a lot of confidence that Charmaine would know that I work at Next Magazine, so wouldn’t need to go through the awkwardness of introducing myself. What would be embarrassing is if it’s been 6 years or 6 months since I last saw a person and all of a sudden get to see them again, but not knowing whether they remember me or not – having to figure that out is difficult.

Well, not more difficult than collaborating with Dayo Wong in "You’re Hired". As one of the forerunners in stand-up comedy, it is difficult for a ‘normal’ person to partner up with him to make people laugh without being overshadowed. Or perhaps bearing the series "Beyond the Realm of Conscience" on her shoulders is more difficult? With all the female characters in the series – each one unique and challenging to portray – Charmaine’s character Lau Sam Ho is the most simple, naïve, and honest…how did she make her character stand out? “It’s hard to be a good person. The character is so ‘good’ that it’s a little beyond belief and can be easily ‘rejected’ by audiences because they are not able to relate. I agree that the character Lau Sam Ho doesn’t really ‘stand out’ – the emotional transformation she goes through internally is not very apparent; compared with the other characters whose ‘changes’ are more emphasized, it is difficult for her to leave a lasting impression on the audience.”

Even more difficult is that some audiences feel the series is ‘too similar’ to Korean series "Jewel in the Palace", which makes overcoming all the comparisons to Korean actress Lee Young-Ae even harder. In fact, avoiding accusations of ‘copying’ the actress is already very lucky. “The only thing I can do is to try hard to portray the character with as much detail as possible. As a person, one’s attitude toward different people around them will undoubtedly be different for each. No matter how ‘good’ Lau Sam Ho is, there are different levels of ‘goodness’ – looking at the character from different angles will make her more three-dimensional.”

Looking through old magazines, it is noted that Charmaine’s facial features and physical attributes have not changed much over the years. What has changed – her status. Nine years ago, she was like a witless young girl – today, the experience she has garnered over the years is more than enough for her to take on the responsibility of ‘leading the new generation’ to success. “ I wouldn’t really say that I’m ‘leading the newcomers’…it’s just that there have been more opportunities to collaborate with newcomers. Actually, this has been the feeling the past few years already.” It’s obvious that a TV station is not an office – in a normal office environment, if you were promoted to a position ‘overseeing’ staff, it would be a cause for celebration; here [in the TV station environment], the ‘pressure’ is greater than the ‘joy’ of being promoted.

Many fa-dans have chosen to get married and have children as they’ve felt the time is right; Charmaine herself probably hopes for a different type of life as well, however she has decided to wait at least another year. So in other words, there will be a year’s worth of ‘rumors’ still to come. Taking on the challenge of being ‘in the running’ for the Next Magazine Awards 10 years straight, she will have to rely on the 2 heavily anticipated series "Can’t Buy Me Love" and "Heaven and Earth". “For me, 10 years will be very meaningful and will be a goal that I really want to achieve. However, I’m not too concerned with ratings – rather, I feel that being able to satisfy the inner spirit from the process of making these series is more important. I am especially looking forward to the series "Heaven and Earth" because the storyline will be very different – it will talk about how my husband in the series dies in the mountains and his corpse is ‘shared’ by his friends in order to survive. The theme of ‘cannabalism’ is different yet at the same time has a more ‘mature’ feel. This type of ‘new’ experience [in acting] is what I’m really pursuing at this point in my career.”

Every person, as a year passes, also ‘ages’ by a year – eliminating others and being eliminated is inevitable. It’s not necessarily a bad thing…like dead water that gets stuck and goes nowhere – that’s the worse. Who I am referring to is not Charmaine Sheh, who is constantly seeking to improve herself and has set very clear goals for herself; rather, I am referring to myself – someone who just lives day by day, letting whatever happens, happen. 

A fan gives Charmaine Sheh a Lamborghini model with customized license plate

Have been in the industry for many years, Charmaine Sheh has received countless amounts of fan gifts. There were two gifts that was the most memorable to her. She said: "One fan knew that I love cars, so he gave me a Lamborghini model sports car. He knows that I can't afford such an expensive car! The model car also has my picture on it with a license plate 'SS1', SS represents 'Sheh Sheh' and the 1 represents that he's my number 1 fan." 

It can be considered that Charmaine receives every possible care for fans. Besides sending their idol one of her most favorite toy model cars, another fan used Charmaine's childhood photos with her mother and created a "rubik's cube" with them! "Can't Buy Me Love" cancels 36 PT rating celebration; TVB receives complaints

TVB series Can't Buy Me Love premiere last night and received 36 points in TV ratings, with about 2.3 million viewers. However, the BA received 11 complaint on TVB's schedule to broadcast a comedy was inappropriate. Initially the cast for Can't Buy Me Love were going to hold a celebration for the high ratings, but Producer Miu Siu Ching canceled the celebration and said that the main idea for the series is to convey a message of love.

In response to the Philippines incident, Charmaine Sheh and Linda Chung had different reactions.

Charmaine said: "Contradictory, don't plan to celebrate. My emotions have not recovered yet. When I saw the news last night, I couldn't hold in my tears."

Linda said: "News is news, series is series, why will it be awkward? Although I am concerned of human lives, I will still support the series. (It's not the appropriate atmosphere to broadcast a comedy?) I don't know how to answer, but I believe TVB did not deliberately schedule this."

The night before, when the news came ou of the tour bus hostages in the Philippines, TV ratings reached 31 points, with about 2 million viewers. However at 2pm yesterday afternoon, TVB received 12 complaints that constant reports of "all hostages dead" is disturbing. The BA received 11 complaints on the bloody news reports, lost in reality and broadcasting a relaxing show at an appropriate time. iCable received 2 complaints for similar reasons. Also, the night before, there was a news reporter who said a swear word, TVB director of Foreign Affairs (Tsang Sing Ming) said that the person who swore wasn't a TVB reporter. It was a time of disorder, believe viewers will understand.

Prince Fung collaborates with 10 years old mental disable Ah Sheh

Almost every Siu Sang that has collaborated with Charmaine Sheh has got rumours with her, but she seemed to have no fate with Raymond Lam. The both of them would collaborate again in their new series and Raymond Lam hoped that the rumours would help to prove his charm. Ah Sheh said that she doesn't dare to dislike Raymond.

Charmaine Sheh, Raymond Lam, and Toby Leung attended the praying ceremony for Colorful Life of Sister Fa yesterday. In the series, Ah Sheh plays the role of a 10 years old mental disabled person. She had to cut her hair short and looked like she was mentally disabled. She also went to the school for mental disabled kids to interact with the children to learn more. In every series that Ah Sheh films, there would be rumours with the actor, however in her previous collaboration with Raymond Lam in Drive of Life, there was no rumours about them. Raymond joked and said, " Before this I collaborated with her, but she was rumoured with someone else, I really need to examine myself again, maybe I'm not charming enough, there should be rumours in this series la!" Ah Sheh explained that it was the media's problem that she and Raymond did not have rumours, "It's good that there wasn't any rumours!" (Are you afraid that there will be rumours saying you dislike Raymond?) "Why would I dislike Prince Fung? We have collaborated a lot and knew each other for a long time, most important is we collaborated well."

There was hope for Raymond Lam to get the TV King award, but unfortunately his new series ( Growing Through Life) did not receive good ratings, he expressed that he was abit disappointed, " Disappointed of course, I took 5 months to film this series, I also had to prepare for concert, it was quite tough filming it, I feel there's unfamiliar Mainland artists, Mainland also broadcasted the series earlier than us so it affects the ratings as well." The casts including Charmaine Sheh and Moses Chan for Can't Buy Me Love were at Olympian City yesterday to promote their series. They went all way out to play games with the audiences, hoped to convey the message of love through the event and bring more energy to Hong Kong people.

In the series, Charmaine plays the role of a mischievous princess. She was asked if she was just portraying her real self? Charmaine said, "It's acting, I don't have "princess disease"!" Charmaine Sheh wins Most Popular Female Artist in Korea

Depending on the hot popular series Can't Buy Me Love, Charmaine Sheh's popularity rises again. Last night, she attended The 5th Seoul International Drama Awards 2010 in Korea and was presented with the Most Popular Artist award along with Ruby Lin. Charmaine was dressed in a red hot evening dress to the award ceremony. 

Last night, Charmaine depended on the popular drama Beyond the Realm of Conscience to win the Highest Most Popular Female Artist Award (Hong Kong). Representing Hong Kong Sammul Chan was beaten by Korean male actor Lee Seung Gi in the Most Popular Male Artist Award. 

Kevin Cheng buys new property to entertain his friends

It was the second time for Kevin Cheng to be the male cast of Dah Sing Bank's advertisement. During the press conference yesterday, he revealed that he would give his "whole property" to Dah Sing Bank and let them handle.
